Another reason to not frequent McDonalds?

I really cannot stand close-minded individuals. When said individuals are members of my own family in order to keep the peace I must keep my mouth shut on most occasions, but sometimes the things that are said really cross the line of decency.
What I am talking about in this instance is how homophobic my family really is. Both sides. I could venture to guess that they probably do not even know anyone that is of the homosexual orientation but the judgment that is placed on them anyways is downright sickening in my opinion.
The latest "stand" that they are taking "against" homosexuality is boycotting McDonalds due to their recent public support of the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC). If there is any reason to not eat at McDonalds (of which I have not stepped foot in, nor drove tire thru in a good year) it would be more because of their crap food, sketchy, overprocessed, as far from organic as physically possible ingredients or unsanitary conditions of both the kitchen and the dining area. Not because they decided to support a group of people who have done nothing to deserve the judgment and condemnation that narrow-minded individuals such as my family deem appropriate. When actually looking into the issue, I am amazed at the outcry against McDonald's support. Webpage, after webpage, after webpage dedicated to the atrocity which is supporting equality in the workplace....
Treating people in such a bias way due to the way they decide to live their lives is just another form of racisim. And don't even get me started on issues of race and my family... its even worse. Though sometimes I think it would be funny to come home hand in hand with an african-american girlfriend just to see the look of horror on their faces... haha. But then I wouldnt be allowed back in the house. Ever.

drives me nuts too.

My mom wouldn't let me buy Levi's Jeans growing up because they "support the gays."

I've had the same thought, re: same-sex mixed-race relationship just to shake things up. It'd be MUCH hotter if you did it, though.

I should bring a different girlfriend to every holiday.. although I think it would freak them out more if I was to bring up the horrid "M" word. Oh the condemnation and disgust in their voices when they talk about "those people" and the "M" word.
Hey mom, guess what?? Look at this ring! Least you'll never worry about becoming a grandma again.. because I know how much you loved that the first time..
