You are what your title makes you out to be, or are you?
One would say that you are what you make your title out to be... A good example of this is for those employed by the gas stations to pump gas. What is it they do? They pump gas, thus their title should them be "gas pumper", right?
Not according to a friend of mine...
He suggests: Professional Petroleum Transfer Technician
Oh that is good...
Altho I think I would prefer "Artist" to "Technician" due to the fact that Technician is so overly used nowadays that those who do occupy this position would think that it would be overly generic. Wouldn't you say??
Haha
I needed that laugh :) Back to work!

I found Friday via the part of my loan my employer wrote out that I'm not just a medical receptionist, but HEAD medical receptionist! As if being the Head of a desk is anything to brag about, but let’s face it, I will put it on my resume! :)
I think that is where the fancy job titles came from, we are all trying to make our resumes look as desirable as possible. It might be the only thing that is more dishonest then personal ads!
It’s sad how much of our lives we spend presenting ourselves to make us wanted on professional and personal levels.
When did you get promoted to "Head" receptionist? I'm sure something like that would come with a substantial pay raise, right??
And yeah, I do agree with you. Its like a professional "homemaker". What about those of us who work and take care of our homes at the same time? Would we then carry two titles? Hmm...
